Install and configure personal computers, printers, tape drives, and other related peripherals under the general direction of the Network Manager.
Create ISO 9000 documentation including: Computer Network Services policies, procedures, and controlled references.
Wire computer network services cable plants.
Deploy and maintain end user telephone equipment.
Assists/performs backup of network servers.
Operate all hardware components associated with networks, personal computers, etc.
Provide basic maintenance of hardware for printers, personal computers, servers, tape drives, etc.
Assist Network Manager in the creation and maintenance of end user accounts on Novell and Windows 2003 servers.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Associates Degree from an accredited college, university, or vocational school in Computer Science, Math, Business Administration, or a related field, supplemented by three years of full time experience in personal computer maintenance, or a combination of relevant industry certifications, and five years of full time experience in personal computer maintenance as determined by the Department Director.
Three years of hardware and software experience with personal computers and network servers, telephone systems, Windows 2000/2003/XP, Novell, and Microsoft applications. Preferred - industry certifications from Microsoft, Novell, or Cisco. Preferred - C.N.A, MCP, MCSE and related industry certifications.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Working knowledge of the operating characteristics, capabilities, and limitations of electronic computer equipment.
Working knowledge of Information Technology operations including: project management, helpdesk methods, best practices, and procedures.
Ability to setup personal computers and related peripherals; configure and install personal computer applications.
